Foster Dickson: Guitarist . . .

Foster Dickson is a writer, editor, teacher, and cultural worker in Montgomery, Alabama. He is the author of three books: Kindling Not Yet Split (Court Street Press, 2002), I Just Make People Up: Ramblings with Clark Walker (NewSouth Books, 2009), and The Life and Poetry of John Beecher (Edwin Mellen Press, 2009), and the general editor of Treasuring Alabama's Black Belt (AUM/AHF, 2009).

Foster Dickson has been playing guitar as a hobby for more than 20 years. Pictured above is Foster playing at an open house at the NewSouth Bookstore in 2002. In 2005, Foster Dickson played as a guest guitarist on the song, "500 Miles," for Sarah Elizabeth Whitehead's CD, When the Redbuds Bloom. For more about the CD, click the cover image above.

Foster also plays the guitar accompaniment on all of the Travels videos for his "Patchwork" project. Go to the "fdickson" channel on YouTube to see those.
