Foster Dickson: Independent Lens '06-'07

Foster Dickson is a writer, editor and teacher in Montgomery, Alabama. He is the author of three books: Kindling Not Yet Split (Court Street Press, 2002), I Just Make People Up: Ramblings with Clark Walker (NewSouth Books, 2009), and The Life and Poetry of John Beecher (Edwin Mellen Press, 2009), and the general editor of Treasuring Alabama's Black Belt (AUM/AHF, 2009).

Independent Lens is a documentary film series, whose seasons run from September through May showing monthly films on socially conscious issues. The films screen on PBS each month, but ITVS (the group who creates Independent Lens) offers local organizers the opportunity to screen each film in a local venue during the month prior to the national airing on public television.

During the 2006-2007 season, Foster Dickson volunteered to host local screenings in Montgomery at Equality Alabama.
